RAGT BYDV trials

The varieties shown are good varieties that do not claim to have BYDV resistance vs the varieties with BYDV resistance.

This is the trial average from 4 sites, Bridgend, Gloucester, Hereford and Essex

All under natural BYDV infection on sites grown normally. The only change to standard practice is that the crops were grown without insecticide.

 

 

RGT Guardsman

RGT Guardsman is a G4H Winter Wheat with BYDV resistance.

 

RGT Guardsman offers BYDV resistance without yield sacrifice. Group 4 Hard feed Winter Wheat with early maturity and great performance in untreated trials.

RL Yield of 103%, a strong barn filling group 4 that stands firm against BYDV. RGT Guardsman was the first variety with BYDV resistance to break the 100% yield barrier on the recommend list. This variety has full UK AHDB recommendation.

 

 

 

RGT Gorgon

RGT Gorgon G4H Winter Wheat with BYDV and OBM resistance.

 

RGT Gorgon has a very good foliar disease resistance profile. Giving growers the option to grow insecticide-free feed wheat. Independent trials have found RGT Gorgon to yield above some standard feed wheats in fully treated conditions while yielding the same under high levels of natural BYDV infection.

RGT Gorgon follows the success of RGT Guardsman in higher yields with BYDV resistance, RGT Gorgon brings OBM as an added trait while also being slightly earlier than the rest of the BYDV Varieties. RGT Gorgon is a RL Candidate that is showing good yields in both treated and untreated trials.

 

 

 

RGT Griffin

RGT Griffin G4H Winter Wheat with BYDV and OBM resistance.

 

RGT Griffin has a very good foliar disease resistance profile. Giving growers the option to grow insecticide-free feed wheat. Independent trials have found RGT Griffin to yield above some standard feed wheats in fully treated conditions while yielding the same under high levels of natural BYDV infection.

RGT Griffin follows the success of RGT Guardsman in higher yields with BYDV resistance, RGT GRIFFIN brings OBM as an added trait while also having a higher spec weight than the rest of the BYDV Varieties.

RGT Griffin is an RL Candidate that is showing good yields in both treated and untreated trials.

 

 

RGT Goldfinch

RGT Goldfinch G2 Winter Wheat with BYDV and OBM resistance.

 

RGT Goldfinch has a very good foliar disease resistance profile. Giving growers the option to grow insecticide-free quality wheat. End users have observed excellent quality for bread making.

RGT Goldfinch launched as the most resistant variety there has ever been on the recommended list. Having 9’s for yellow rust and brown rust, a 6.9 for septoria while carrying BYDV and OBM resistance. All while being able to produce milling quality.

RGT Goldfinch was the first variety with BYDV resistance to break into milling quality in the UK. This variety has full UK AHDB recommendation and is approved by UKFM as Group 2.
